The fourth annual Hideaway Folk Festival is here! August 25 will be an awesome day of music on 2 stages, food, friends and celebration at Brewer’s Hideaway Farm! Read below for details, and a list of performers.

ENTRY FEE:
We are asking that people pay $10 per adult and $5 per child (12&under). This gets you a free meal, a cup of fun and helps us pay musicians who are traveling many hours to be here; it also pays for event insurance. (If you love musicommunity, please feel free to donate more.)

DRAANKS:
If you are 21+ please feel free to BYOB and enjoy responsibly. There will be free water in big jugs, but again, BYOB (this time, meaning “bring your own bottle.”) Last time, we got a keg and gave every desiring adultly person in attendance a feww brews as a thanks for supporting the festival. We are seeing if we can work this out again.

FOOD:
Every guest gets a FREE bowl of vegetarian curry made with farm-fresh ingredients. Feel free to bring your own food as well; the more the merrier.

RESPECT:
It is so kind of the Brewer’s Hideaway Farm to host such a shindig. Please show respect by not wandering off into the active farm fields or into the barns. Please remember that this event is BYOB & drug free–be responsible and respectful of the Brewers’ beautiful farm.

LATENIGHTSHINDIG:
After the scheduled music wraps up on both stages, we will have a fire. If you, your mom or your dog has an acoustic instrument, feel free to bring it and jam around the pit. If we are lucky, a few people will fall in the pond and pretend they were trying to swim.

CAMPING:
You can camp for FREE. The place is beautiful, so why not? If you plan to sleep over, please sign in to the camping sheet when you arrive, providing your name and cell phone number. Roosters may wake you up, and we may ask for help cleaning up in the morning, but it’ll be a blast. Feel free to hang till noon on Sunday.

MERCHANDISE:
The musicians and artists will have various items for sale. Please consider buying something to support them. Musicians get hungry, and tour vehicles get thirsty for some gasoline. Don’t let the internet starve the creative people you love.

I am so honored to be on tour in Mexico & Central America. In these current political times of negativity, I am doing what I can to share some positivity with our international neighbors. Here is a short video explaining the tour a little bit. I am so glad to be hitting the road with my good friends, Tyler Yoder and Evan Stout.

I have just spent the past two and a half months taking my new album, “Seventh Story” around the world. I played a bunch of concerts across four continents. The travel time provided opportunities to watch, write and reflect. I got to thinking about some of the stuff that Has Happened in my shortlong time on this planet:

I was invited to sing my original songs for the king of Busoga.
One time someone bought me a taco with money they made by selling their own body.
I had hypothermia in the Himalayas.
Before I stayed awake for three days in a row.
I boogie boarded down some snazzy rapids in the Nile.
I have swum under the ice of a thickly frozen lake.
I have driven eleven hours to play a concert for 17 people.
I’ve feasted with friends on food we found in dumpsters.
I’ve had my truck and tractor stolen from me, and my dog is dead (my life IS a country song).
I’ve played official concerts in 1/8 of the countries in the world (more than 20).

I understand that the experiences we make make us as humans. I’ve been honored to share some amazing human moments with people all over the place, and I’ve been totally alone other times. I’m glad to have the guitar and the pen to help document some of these experiences, and stitch together the globe’s positive human fabric a little bit. I am a lover of the natural world, and I’m about to board my 16th flight of the past two and a half months. My carbon footprint contradicts my beliefs. Someday, I hope to somehow make that up. And if this metal bird should fall from the sky and you never hear from me again, find peace in knowing that I lived more than enough. I guess I was dead before I was alive, and I’m not too worried about it happening again.
I don’t have plans anymore, just hopes attached to calendars. I will hope to play a welcome home show at Argilla’s Brewery in Delaware on Monday March 7 at 9PM. I intend to run an environmental program on the Chesapeake Bay from March till November. I’ll be playing heaps of East Coast US shows as well. I am ready to record my 8th studio album, “Pick Me Up” this summer, and later take it on a tour throughout South and Central America. I want to keep listening, watching, learning, and trying to spread awareness and positivity wherever my big carbon footprint lands me and my big feet.

“Conclusions” is the closing track on my new album, Seventh Story. For a long time now, this song has been a big part of the musical gatherings that we hold at our abode in Delaware, USA. The verses and melodies have aged along with us.

For the music video, I wanted to make a time-capsule to capture the essence of Madison life, while still highlighting the mysterious beauty of illusion. I’m excited to announce that my seventh album, “Seventh Story” will be released internationally on october 22 at World Cafe Live at the Queen!

Happy 7/7! As you may know, I have been feverishly working on my new album, “Seventh Story.” It will be released internationally in Fall 2016. To celebrate the theme of sevens, starting today on 7/7, I’ll be showing a sneak peak of a song and sharing stories from recording and writing this album.

Without further ado, here is the first song, “Big, Big Joke.”

More info and credits will follow, but right now, I’m off to the woods to celebrate. I’ll be hitting the road again, touring internationally with my good friend, Evan Stout for the next seven weeks.

My old website got hacked. Just like that, my blog, photos, songs and chronicles of that past five years disappeared. This digital murder was so sudden. I looked out my window, took a breath and checked my pulse. I seem to still be displaying strong vital signs. I should be sad about my digital death, but instead I am choosing to focus on this as a new beginning.
